YOU CAN DO IT!
YOU CAN DO IT!
There are so many things you
cannot do, but that is just because you believe it. There are so many things
you can do, but because you think you can’t, you’ll never do them. Somebody
said, ‘the only way to discover the
limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible.’ What then are the limits of the possible? When
does something stop becoming possible? This is the question you should always
be asking yourself. Is it when your friend tells you it is no longer possible?
Is it when your critics tell you you are wasting your time or when your family
tells you you need to forget it and move on? No, it is when you are content
that you have achieved whatever goal you set for yourself.
What will always kill your dreams is lack of confidence in yourself, lack of belief in your own capabilities. When you forget who you are and be what your friends, family or teachers think you are or want you to be, you can never know what you want to be. In the same manner, when you forget where you come from, you can never know where you are headed to. Nobody else exists who knows you better than yourself. Not even your identical twin or your mom. Your friends now just have a glimpse of you, and your critics have just a fallacy of who you really are. You should therefore wake up to the realization that you are the master of your destiny. It is only God who divinely knows you much better than yourself, that’s why he assigned you a purpose. Nobody else has the power over your destiny, you are the supreme ruler, why don’t you take charge?
The chief killer of your future
is yourself. When you allow yourself get influenced into irresponsible
activities, you’re killing your future. Peer influence is an enemy of progress.
It is the thief that has robed our youths of their morals. It has stolen the
hope of our nations. It has broken our hearts and left us wondering if the
future really exists. Peer influence is your enemy; it is my enemy too. If you
reject it, and I reject it, then we will defeat it, and have our future back,
regain our morals. The question however is, what is peer influence? Peer
influence is when you fail to think as an individual and resolve to thinking as
a group with your best of friends, classmates or any other group of idle peers,
without first thinking for yourself. It is when you don’t consider what is good
for yourself but what is good for yourselves. Don’t call it selflessness, because
it is combined selfishness. That is peer
influence. It is also good to know what peer influence is not. It is not coming
together to solve a problem or discuss a situation; that is teamwork. It is not
meeting some fellow resident peers to solve a common social problem; that is
citizenship. Peer influence is never heading towards anything positive, it
always seeks to destroy every good thing it can.
Done with peer influence? Well,
have some time now to think about yourself. Get to know that being you have
never had time to discover: yourself. Know your capabilities, your strengths,
your weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Know what pleases you and what
doesn’t. Identify what you want in life. Identify your dreams and start chasing
them. Discover your passion; what is it that when you do, you don’t gain
anything in return but it makes you happy. When you create time to think about
yourself, you get to know yourself. When you get to know yourself, you become
self-dependent; you gain independence hence you can effectively think for
yourself as an individual, but this doesn’t mean you don’t adhere to rules
anymore. The most important key to the realization of your dreams is knowing
yourself, having the exact impression of who you really are. It is true that if you go alone, you can go
fast, but going in a group makes you go further; but it is very important to
think of yourself, for yourself and by yourself at personal level first.
Knowing what is good for you as an individual will lead you to knowing what is
good for you as a group. So, you must know yourself!
Now that you know you
yourself and what you can do, what still holds you back then? You must still be
lacking something. What could it be? Well, what hinders you from making a move
is lack of belief in yourself; lack of self-confidence. You know you can do
this, but you are afraid you can fail. So what if you fail? Does it mean you
can never succeed? How many times did Abraham Lincoln fail politically? Did
that deter him from being the sixteenth president of the United States? How
could Gerard Philips have finally come up with the Philips light bulb if he
never failed several times I his trials?
Failing is not an issue to discourage you, it a factor to encourage you,
to reenergize you and to give you more confidence. Self-confidence is the most attractive quality you can have. How can
anyone see how great you are if you can’t see it yourself? How can anyone trust
you if you can’t trust yourself? How can anyone else believe in you if you
don’t believe in yourself? You have
to believe in yourself.

Make the move now. Come on, try
it! Don’t worry, don’t be afraid, this is your chance. If you fall, you will
stand and try again. If you succeed, you will celebrate. But why should you
think you will fail? Failure is not meant for you. It is meant for those ones
who have refused to think for themselves, those who don’t know who they are,
those who have never believed in themselves. But you, are winner, that’s why
you believe you can do it, because you can. Don’t think something could be
impossible. No! Nothing is impossible to him who shall try. If you try, you make everything possible. So,
I assure you, whatever it is you want to do, YOU CAN DO IT!
